A friend of mine asks:

"I am trying to finalize my rank list for [physician] residencies and could use some help from my Facebook friends. All of the residencies I've applied to are in cities that I have never lived in and have barely visited. As you can imagine, this makes deciding which of them we would most like to spend the next four years of our life in hard. If you are familiar with these places and have any strong feelings about them, good or bad, I would love to know hear them. The cities/areas in question are: Warwick, RI (just south of Providence); suburbs West of Cleveland; West Islip, Long Island; Madison Heights, MI (suburb north of Detroit); South NJ suburbs of Philadelphia (Stratford, Cherry Hill, Washington Township); and Paterson, NJ area (we already know we would not actually live *in* Paterson). Traffic? Cost of living? Restaurants? Culture? Crime?"
