On April 19, 1943, scientist Albert Hoffman ingested 250 micrograms of LSD, then rode his bicycle home from the lab.

It was the first intentional LSD trip.

The date of that first trip, April 19, has since become known as Bicycle Day, and it's celebrated by many psychedelic enthusiasts.

Does anyone know if there's a similar holiday for MDMA? A cursory search didn't turn up much.

If it doesn't already exist, I nominate June 19 to be Shulgin Day, Alexander Shulgin's birthday, to celebrate his rediscovery of MDMA, and his discovery of hundreds of other psychoactive compounds.

While living in obscurity now, I think Shulgin will someday be recognized as one of the great neurochemists of the 20th Century.
