The two largest cruise lines, Royal Caribbean and Carnival have ship capacities of 77,950 and 66,320 passengers respectively. By comparison, Monaco and Lichtenstein have populations of around 40,000 residents. I wonder what would happen if Royal Caribbean and Carnival sought U.N. recognition as independent nation states? Would there be any advantage to doing so?\
\
Has anyone done research on the \"minimum viable nation\"? Under what conditions is a nation is likely to be conquered by another nation vs. being left alone? Clearly, it\'s not just population, but location, geography, regional alliances, wealth, and so on.\
