For the record, I think Trump is a terrible person, and should be no where near the presidency. I also think Hillary is a terrible person, though she would make a better president than Trump. However, I tend to pick on Hillary a little more than Trump because I don't think many of my friend's need persuading that Trump is awful. If it makes any of you Hillary fans feel any better, I also post annoying comments to my Trump supporting friends:

"The truth is that Trump articulated, if incompletely and inconsistently, the right stances on the right issues—immigration, trade, and war—right from the beginning."

Trump advocates for suppressing immigration (most economists think it should be increased). He wants to impose heavy tariffs on trade with China, and suggests forcing Apple to bring their iPhone production home. In his businesses, he has made extensive use of eminent domain to seize other people's property for his own use. He advocates killing the families (women and children alike) of suspected terrorists.

His stances reflect the ignorance and biases of a broad swath of the population (which is what made him popular), but in no sense are they "right" in either the moral or practical sense.

And thank God that he didn't advocate for more free market policies! Now his support for mercantilism, international apartheid, and war-mongering will be associated with his obviously repugnant personality.

Johnson would make a better president than either. Though if by some miracle Johnson were elected, he would be at best a stopgap measure. Our real enemy? The systemic incentives which led to the creation of the most massive, well-armed monopoly in the history of the world.
