\"Survey how \"unschoolers\" turn out \-- the 10% minority of home-schoolers who follow no curriculum at all, rather let the kids learn what they like.\
\
Punchline: fully 96% felt their education was superior to formal schooling, only 11% felt behind in any academic subject at all. 83% go on to higher education, typically starting at community college by 16 then on to BA\'s, and disproportionately in STEM subjects. About 20% felt socially isolated, which author notes is similar to social isolation in actual schools, but then some of these kids pre-dated social media.\
\
I\'d say pretty shocking that absence of any schooling or curriculum whatsoever gives better results than 12 years\' of \"scientific\" formal education at \$150,000 per head \-- naturally not counting the value of the kids\' time.\
\
Note unschooling parents are typically middle-class, but at a minimum suggests formal schooling is an utter waste for the majority of kids.\"
