I largely agree with @[546404765:2048:Patri]. If you've committed to a monogamous relationship, then it makes sense to reduce temptation as much as possible.
(I'm not sure about his statistics re: monogamy rates, but even if they're off, there is certainly a large majority of people who aspire to monogamous relationships.)
I also like his point about how Pence could follow the policy in a gender neutral way, thus not disadvantaging female staffers and colleagues.
