I've found that when I'm fasting, I like to have something to chew on. However, even sugar-free gum stimulates hunger pangs. I also find it difficult to moderate my intake of sugar-free gum, which causes, ahem, "gastro-intestinal distress".
I've found Falim gum to be a good alternative. It contains no sugars (artificial or otherwise). It's almost flavorless (tastes mildly of rose water at the beginning). And it lasts a very long time--I get tired of chewing long before it deteriorates.
