Imagine that police discovered that Kavanaugh, along with some of his fellow judges, had hired goons to kidnap women and keep them in cages. And that the goons raped and sexually assaulted many of the women while they were encaged. And let's assume that there was no question that Kavanaugh was doing this, that the evidence was incontrovertible. In fact, let's assume that he freely admitted it.

That would be much worse than what Kavanaugh is accused of now, right?

Surely, any right thinking person would distance themselves from Kavanaugh then, and denounce him as unfit for high public office. Everyone would demand in unison that any government official who helped kidnap and cage these women be stripped of power and investigated for their role in his crimes?

You'd think that, but that's not what actually happens.

In fact, almost every politician in Congress is complicit in the assault and kidnapping of tens of thousands of women every year. Many of those women are also sexually assaulted by the goons, both during and prior their capture, and while imprisoned.

I am speaking, of course, of the women who are arrested on sex work-related charges every year. (Almost 40,000 people--almost all women--were arrested on such charges in 2016.)

If we're to howl for Kavanaugh's head for his alleged sexual assaults as a high school and college student, then far worse behavior by sitting politicians deserves at least as much condemnation, right?

Yet most of the good liberals on my friend's list remain silent.

Where is the outrage for those women? Where are the heartfelt videos calling for their assaults at the hands of government goons to stop?
