A fascinating visualization of the deaths suffered by each country during WW2. Lot's of things I didn't know. For example, Ethiopia suffered as many losses on a per capita basis as the US. India lost more than the US, UK, Italy, Korea, and France combined. I knew about the massive Russian losses, but didn't know that China had lost nearly as many.

What's the Chinese "Saving Private Ryan"? Or the Ethiopian "Bridge on the River Kwai"?

Ethiopia: 100,000
US: 418,500
UK: 450,700
Italy: 457,000
Korea: 473,000
France: 567,600
Greece: 800,000
Philippines: 1 million
India: 2.5 million
Japan: 3.1 million
Poland: 5.6 million
Germany: 8.8 million
China: 20 million
USSR: 24 million
