I wish Burning Man would adopt Dutch Auctions for ticket sales, as detailed by Brad Templeton:\
\
[https://eplaya.burningman.org/viewtopic.php?t=73111](https://eplaya.burningman.org/viewtopic.php?t=73111){target="_blank"}\
\
Advantages:\
\
\* Encourages people to enter the amount at which they truly value their tickets\
\* Almost all value goes to the org, not to scalpers\
\* No rush to bid\--everyone can enter their bids at their leisure over say, a week, with an equal chance of getting a ticket. People who have jobs that don\'t let them hover at their browser window aren\'t discriminated against\
\* Everyone who buys a ticket pays the same price\
\* You can assure that either you and your friends all get tickets or not by bidding the same price\
\
Disadvantages:\
\
\* It allocates by willingness and ability to pay, instead of willingness and ability to stand in line (the current system). This annoys/outrages a lot of hippies.\
\* Most people don\'t have a lot of experience with Dutch Auctions, so there will be a learning curve.
