I see a lot of complaints about voter ID laws, gerrymandering, the electoral college, and other policies that some believe result in disenfranchising some voters.\
\
But let\'s assume that these people got everything they wished for\--voter ID laws struck down, gerrymandering replaced with a fair districting algorithm, and the electoral college system abolished.\
\
Your vote will still count for almost nothing, and many of the policies that you will be forced to comply with will not be to your liking. You will still be forced to pay for pointless wars, corporate welfare, the prison industrial complex, and so on.\
\
What\'s the point of having a say in the policies that govern you (democracy) if what you say will almost never result in the policies you want?\
\
Wouldn\'t it be better to have both a say in the policies, \_and also\_ live under the policies you want?\
\
Yet, propose any changes that would decreased our current system of centralized, monopoly power, and increase the chances for citizens to live under the policies they want, and many of the same people who waxed pious about voter disenfranchisement will often voice vigorous opposition.\
\
For example, propose to a) shrink the size of the federal government b) devolve power to the states c) create a mechanism for states to secede d) free mobility between states,
