Stara Plynarna ("Old Gasworks") was built on the stream in 1905 by German workers. It was originally an acetylene gasworks, which supplied coal gas to a dozen nearby homes in the nearby village of Hřensko, Czech Republic. It was built in a relatively narrow ravine, so that in case of an explosion, it would not destroy the nearby homes.
