Idea (movie): a man discovers he has a terminal cancer, and is recruited to join a secret regiment of kamikaze mercenaries, all of whom are themselves dying of terminal cancer. They serve until they die from cancer, they die on missions, or until the superdrugs they take to enhance their performance kill them. Think "James Bond on chemo".
