Notes:

* She began life in 1970 as a pipelaying barge named HCC 101 for the Houston Contracting Company. In 1975 she was acquired by major offshore company Brown & Root, and renamed BAR 355. She was built by Jeffboat Inc. of Jeffersonville, Indiana, USA, and had hull # 524805. Although she appeared in Lloyds Register of Offshore Units, no IMO number appears there.

In 1986 she took a major turn, being converted into a coastwise container barge by Gulf Coast Fabricators at Port Bienville MS. She first worked as LIBERTY TRADER, then COLUMBIA JACKSONVILLE. She was then retired from the container trade and bought by the Vance Construction Co, and renamed VCC 370, representing her 370-foot overall length.

She has now, obviously, been converted into a house boat barge and renamed SPORTSMAN’S PARADISE. Originally she remained under U.S. flag, owned by Total Ventures LLC of Tampa Florida, but has now been put under Bolivia flag as FISHERMAN’S PARADISE. (History provided by George Schneider).

* It was an ex natural gas pipe-laying ship converted into a hotel over a period of at least six years.
* Circa August 2011, it was owned by Tierra Verde Resort Marina LLC of Clearwater, FL. Gary Boesch appears to have been a principal owner. Chris Longrie was director of operations. Ryan Nelson was general manager (appears in the youtube video below).
* It was anchored 15 miles off the beach of Clearwater, FL.
* Was serviced by the Gulf Marine Repair Corporation's yard in Tampa. Their Scotia drydock will handle vessels up to 650' in length and widths of 86'.
* The hull is about three stories high by itself, and out of the water it is the size of a six story building.
* There are four large Caterpillar diesel generators. Three of them operate in a bank alone, and the fourth generator is an emergency back up unit. Each generator produces 180 kilowatts of power. Just to provide some scale, the four Caterpillar generators can provide 720 kilowatts of power. This is the equivalent of 144 Kohler 5 kw generators you find on many pleasure boats.
* Any one generator can carry the full ships load, but typically two are running at once, each carrying about half of the load. The control system manages the generators, and does scheduled shutdowns for maintenance, and automatically starts and stops the units to balance the running hour loads between the three units. The on board diesel fuel tanks can handle up to 380,000 gallons allowing very extended periods of time at sea without refueling.
* There are two large scale water makers (Village Marine's Pure Water Commercial units) used to supply fresh water, and substantial tankage to store it. Each water maker produces 3000 gallons per day alone.
* Air conditioning, and systems cooling is provided by a bank of three commercial marine Adrick chiller systems, each providing up to 40 tons of cooling capability.
* Huebsch commercial washer / dryer units
* A high volume salt water ice maker for the fish boxes, the two 1200 gallon live bait wells, and the main salon salt water aquarium.
* Walk in flash freezer
* Stainless steel fish cleaning table
* A full Tusa dive shop, with Tusa certified staff, and air, and nitrox tank refilling systems
* Helipad suitable for landing up to 11,000 lb helicopters (ex: Sikorsky S76)
* Swing arm crane capable of lifting loads up to 7 tons onto the deck
* Gantry cranes that can lift boats up to 32-ft for storage on the deck
* 1/3 of the ship is still unused space (~20000 ft2) and can be built to suit the application (additional guest rooms, crew rooms, offices or medical facilities, etc)
* 900 bottle wine cellar
* swim up bar
* 12 seat movie theater
* 45 person restaurant
* 2 story gym and spa
* 14 suites on main deck, 4 VIP suites on the salon deck, two full Captain's multi-room suites. Size ranges from 350 - 450 ft). All rooms have at least two large windows that face the ocean.
* When in operation, the primary fishing fleet consisted of two 32' center console Boston Whaler Outrages, two 28' center console Scouts, a 60' Viking Sportfish, and a 50' head boat.
* The boats could dock in a 70 ft long by 50 ft wide self contained marina built into the notch for a tug (from when she was a container carrier). This marina has a pier down the center so up to four 33-ft boats or two 50-ft boats can dock at the same time.
* On the aft starboard deck, a set of rails hold the cradles for the four center console boats. This gantry system can pick up the boats from the marina, after a day out on the water, and place them on cradles, that are then shifted forward, so the next boat can be picked up
* All garbage that can be incinerated in a special low emission system. All other garbage is compacted, and shipped to shore for recycling, or to a land fill. Waste treatment systems process all grey, and black water, and only filtered, and sterile water is returned to sea. Even the remnants from the fish cleaning station is processed on board, and not just thrown into the water.
* Was offered at $12 million, and may have sold as low as $1 million.
