"The construction company Ferrovial-Agromán is currently working on a project to supply massive reinforced concrete blocks which will be used in amplification works in the port of Palma de Mallorca.

The blocks are 22 metres long, almost 15 metres wide and 20 metres high, and are being created on the “Agromán-Bilbao” floating platform before setting sail for Palma. Two more such structures are to be supplied to the Port Authority in the Balearics, and will also be manufactured at the same floating facility, which is specifically designed for this purpose. The first was completed on 19th November and the third one is already close to completion: once all three are safely afloat, the voyage to Palma de Mallorca will begin, towing the blocks.

Since the floating dock was installed in the Escombreras industrial area in Cartagena on 19th December 2009 there have been three projects of this nature, with previous concrete structures having been supplied to the ports of Ibiza and Carboneras, in the province of Almería."
