Check out this house made almost entirely out of stacked compressed cork bricks:
No mortar, no glue. The bricks can be unstacked and moved somewhere else.
In the case of the cork house, they have to CNC mill each brick due to the fact that they have to heat/compress the cork to form the bricks.
However, it seems like it should be possible to make a mold for EPIC bricks that would allow a DIYer to make stacked house:
If you added a raceway for threaded rod/wire rope, as in this garden box:
...you could put the wall under tension in the vertical direction, which should make it very resistant to earthquakes.
