A friend asks what can be done to assist the activists. Here's a partial list, of varying legality and practicality:
* Advocate for relaxing US immigration suppression laws for HK citizens allowing them to live and work in the US
* Fund research on seasteading to allow HK citizens to flee from China's grasp
* Start seasteading companies and invite HK citizens to live on them
* Issue social policy bonds that pay out if/when Chinese starts respecting freedom of speech/assembly, releases political prisoners, etc
* Fund bounties on the heads of the most authoritarian Chinese politicians
* Create software that allow HK citizens to automatically create "dead man's bounties" on the heads of Chinese politicians if they are imprisoned, killed, tortured
* Smuggle guns/money/ammo into/out of China
* Selectively hire HK citizens for startups, etc.
* Fund anonymity tech like Monero, Session, I2P/Tor, etc and promote it's use in China
* Promote 3-d printed gun, DIY ammo tech in China
* Start a non-profit to smuggle HK dissidents out of the country (the Silk Railroad)
* Buy up large tracts of land in a poor country in Africa / South America, and bribe the local government to allow HK citizens to freely live and work there
* Promote special economic zones in Latin America that allow HK citizens to freely live and work there
* Promote decentralized P2P mesh networks (Locha Mesh, Althea, Loki)
* Promote guerrilla warfare, civil obedience techniques in China (sabotage railways, work to rule, civil service harassment, etc)
* Buy from pro-HK independence companies
* Boycott Apple and other companies that rely heavily on Chinese state-run companies
