I spent a bunch of time yesterday researching some of the most well-known cases of deaths from police brutality that have clear video footage. I wanted to understand the patterns. All are black unless specified otherwise. Did I miss any?
GEORGE FLOYD
Killed by a cop putting his knee on his neck (prone position) for 9 minutes while he was handcuffed and on the ground.
ERIC GARNER
Killed by a cop doing a chokehold for minutes on end, while he was crying "I can't breath", surrounded by half a dozen cops.

TONY TAMPA
White guy. Killed by a cop in a very similar situation as George Floyd, in a prone position while handcuffed and on the ground, surrounded by 3 cops. He had called police for help from his mental illness.
OSCAR GRANT
Executed while on the ground, his arms on the back, several cops on top of him. One stands up and shoots him in the back.
DANIEL SHAVER
White. Executed while unarmed, following instructions by several police officers armed with assault weapons and gear. Police was acquitted.
PHILANDO CASTILE
A guy in his car, with his girlfriend and her daughter. He had a lawful gun and told the policeman about it. The policeman executed him with 7 shots.
WALTER SCOTT
He was running away from the police. He was executed by a cop who shot in the back five times. He was then handcuffed, face down.

AIYANA JONES
A 7 yeard old girl executed in her house while she was sleeping on her couch. The police had rammed the door and thrown in a stunt grenade, and then started shooting, killing a dog and Aiyana.

STEPHON CLARK
A man was executed in his backyard, unarmed.
The excuse was that he had something that looked like a gun. It was a phone.

Corey was in his car talking with road service. A policeman off duty arrived and jumped on him. Corey had a gun and apparently tried to escape. He was shot 6 times.
AHMAUD ARBERY
Ahmaud was running on the street. Two men on a truck try to stop him. He tries to avoid them. They get into a fight. He gets shot and die.
SANDRA BLAND
Stopped for a lane change without the light.
Arrested for being angry—and probably black.
Found dead 3 days later in jail, allegedly a suicide.
