"Many years ago, I read “The Economics of Inflation” by Italian economist Constantino Bresciani-Turroni (1931, English edition 1937). The author’s detailed descriptions of both the causes and effects of the great inflations that were inflicted upon the peoples of Germany, Hungary, and Austria during and after World War 1 are enlightening and cautionary for us today, for our financial and political rulers are inflicting upon us those same causes, therefore those same effects will obtain, which include loss of trust, increase in predatory behavior, concentration of wealth, poverty, civil unrest, and ultimately, war. You can have civilization, or you can have fiat currency, but you cannot for long have both.

In the video below, economist Mario (Maneco64) quotes from another, more modern, book on inflation, Adam Ferguson’s “When Money Dies” (1975), also well worth reading." -- @[1064421456:2048:Mark Voelker]
