"Biden: Hey, with all these Black Lives Matters protests, I think I should pick Kamala Harris as my running mate. Whaddya think?

Staffer: Umm, sir, I’m not sure that’s a good idea.

Biden: Huh? Why not?

Staffer: Well, sir, BLM’s main issue concerns police misconduct. As an op-ed in the NYT pointed out last year, Harris “fought tooth and nail to uphold wrongful convictions that had been secured through official misconduct that included evidence tampering, false testimony and the suppression of crucial information by prosecutors.”

Biden: And?

Staffer: And she withheld “information about a police laboratory technician who had been accused of ‘intentionally sabotaging’ her work.” She hid this info from defense attorneys and, when caught, a judge “condemned Ms. Harris’s indifference to the systemic violation of the defendants’ constitutional rights.” More than 600 cases relying on the corrupt technician’s work were overturned. And this wasn’t even the only time she was caught withholding exculpatory evidence!

Biden: Okay, and?

Staffer: She also opposed major BLM goals, like “a bill requiring her office to investigate shootings involving officers.” She also “refused to support statewide standards regulating the use of body-worn cameras by police officers.”

Biden: Look, I don’t know what any of that means. I don’t care and neither does anyone else. You know she’s black, right?

Staffer: Uhh, yes sir.

Biden: Okay, well that settles it then."
