# I agree with Bates point overall--I think libertarians _should_ reach…

I agree with Bates point overall\--I think libertarians \_should\_ reach out much more to Muslims, socialists, and other groups that libertarians have historically neglected.\
\
However, many Muslims hold beliefs at least as backwards as the people he criticizes on the right (on women\'s rights, gay rights, religious liberty, etc).\
\
Yet, whereas he treats Muslims with kindness and respect, he spews vitriol toward the libertarianish conservatives (who are much more libertarian overall than the average Muslim).\
\
It seems to me that if we can reach out to conservative Muslims with kindness and respect, we can continue to reach out to those on the right in a similar fashion.
