Some movies have a fever dream like quality, with surreal cinematography that blurs the boundaries between dream and reality.\

Often, fever dream movies have a nightmare like quality. I\'d put Requiem for a Dream, Pan\'s Labyrinthe, Jacob\'s Ladder, and Enter the Void into this category.\
\
But some fever dream movies have an upbeat quality to them. They might have horrific moments or horror elements, but, on the whole, they have a positive, upbeat sense of life. For example, I\'d classify all of the following as upbeat fever dream movies:\

Rango\
Paprika\
City of Lost Children\
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind\
The Fountain\
Being John Malkovich\
Fantasia\

Anything by Studio Ghibli (Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away)\
Fantastic Mr. Fox\
Isle of Dogs\
