In development hell, so who knows if it will ever happen.

"Event Horizon will soon head to the small screen via the Amazon Prime streaming service, and here's what we know about the series so far. When released in 1997, director Paul W.S. Anderson's sci-fi/horror film Event Horizon didn't exactly prove as attractive to moviegoers as a black hole does to, well, everything around it. Event Horizon was a critical and commercial dud, but as has happened to many horror films, it went on to amass a large cult following via years of cable, home video, and streaming availability.

It's no wonder Event Horizon eventually caught on, as the concept of putting Hell - or at least a realm quite close to it - within outer space is one full of possibilities for frights, even if the obscure 1990 movie Dark Side of the Moon did it first. Often described as The Shining meets Alien, Event Horizon provided both The Shining's haunted house scares and Alien's claustrophobic, creepily designed environments. The scenes depicting the goings on in Hell are also legendarily gory, even though most of what was shot ended up on the cutting room floor."
