A friend asks:\
\
\"RUST VERSUS ROT?\
I am working on a feasibility report on building materials for land based remote surveillance outposts in Gabon\'s 23 marine protected areas. The two materials being considered are wood and steel shipping containers structures.\"\
\
My answer:\
\
Personally, I wouldn\'t build with either wood or shipping container.\
Assuming they need something:\
\
\* cheap\
\* durable\
\* comfortable\
\* rust proof\
\* easy to build with unskilled labor\
\* mold resistant\
\
I would put up walls with Hesco barriers and a George Nez-style hypar roof. Burlapcrete the walls if you need a finished surface and/or want to protect the Hesco steel mesh.
