If you want to donate money to a neglected "high impact" cause, I would be hard-pressed to think of one more worthy than seasteading.
Read Kyle Varners accounts of his experience living and working in poor countries:
"IIf you are a poor person born in a poor country, you are damned by fate.
It is even worse if you are a refugee.
You'll be geographically restricted, treated poorly by the existing power structures, and at every turn when you try to change your circumstances, you'll be repressed. This is hell on earth; these people are damned.
There are a few ways out:
Involving one's self in some form of crime or corruption, and thereby take your place on the higher rungs of the ladder of the the broken society into which you were born.
Obtaining the right kind of education--something outside your ability to obtain by your own means--could allow you to join the elite class of your society.
The opportunity to get our of hell and move to a first world country opens just about every door imaginable, as so many individual immigrant success stories and economic statistics about immigrants demonstrate.
Those are more or less the only three viable strategies towards a better life--and generally speaking, the third strategy is by far the most attractive."
Mature seasteading technology would allow people trapped by immmigration suppression laws to more easily escape dictatorial governments and backwards cultures.
