From the comments:\
\
Calling someone a Nazis is rhetorical squid ink. The accuser typically can\'t logically defend their position, so they make a ridiculous accusation in the hopes that they\'ll trip you up.\
\
If you get flustered, they\'ll sneer and ask: \"Why are you getting embarrassed? You\'re not a Nazi, are you?\"\
\
If you ignore the accusation, then they claim that you\'re dodging the question. And why would you dodge the question, if you\'re not a Nazi? After all, it should be easy to deny it, right?\
\
If you deny it, then the fact that you\'re giving it serious attention at all suggests that you think that there\'s a possibility that a reasonable person might think you\'re a Nazi.\
\
Also, instead of discussing the original topic, you\'re spending time discussing why you\'re not a Nazi. And it places them in the one up position of you justifying yourself to them.\
\
The key to responding is to recognize it for what it is: a dodge, an attack, and an attempt to tie you and your position to Nazis in the minds of others.\
\
Probably best to ignore, but I\'m tempted to embrace and exaggerate next time:\
\
\"Nazi? Those liberal pantywaists?!? They only wanted to gas the Jews\--I want to gas everyone!\"
