How many people attended the January 6 Trump protest? My numbers originally came from this article, which linked to calculations that are now gone because the FB account was deleted:

However, the 250 - 300 K numbers he estimated seemed plausible to me because the protest seemed more well attended than Trump's inauguration, and most sources put the number of attendees at his inauguration (at the low end) at 250 K:
https://www.politicususa.com/2017/01/20/numbers-in-trumps-inauguration-crowd-17th-size-obama.html
Also, 74 million people voted for Trump. If we assume that 0.5% of them were unhappy enough to protest, that puts the numbers at 370 K.
Obama's 2nd inauguration was attended by an estimated 1 million people, which is 1.5% of his ~66 million vote total. Assuming the Trump protest was 1/5 as large (as a percentage of his vote total), then that puts the crowd size at 224 K.
