tl;dr: A friend of mine stored dozens of hours of C0V1D related research in a friends-only FB post. FB retroactively deleted the post because it linked to a page that FB didn't like. Fortunately, my friend had recently created a backup; unfortunately, FB won't allow him to download the backup, only delete it.

Do I know anyone at FB who can either a) undelete the page long enough to recover the post b) give him permission to download his backup?

"I need some help here.

Well it was only a matter of time. Facebook without warning deleted a popular friends-only post of mine from April 15 2020 with many hundreds of research comments by myself and others regarding C0V1D origins which I prepared for my presentation to [human rights non-profit] Board for a global conference on exactly this subject attended by high ranking individuals.

A post and which I have frequently reviewed.. as a reference point, and which I now cannot access.

A few months ago out of the blue I was warned that a single link (out of literally hundreds) contained something Facebook wanted to put a warning on. This link was elevated to the main link and a warning appeared over the whole post for viewers. Awkward.

That post had _hundreds of hours_ of my painstaking research and links posted, which I kept no where else, as I use Facebook for a friends-visible note taking, memory and feedback tool. I disputed it and nothing happened but the warning remained.

Today I added two things to it and Facebook spontaneously deleted the entire post tree without giving me a chance to save it.

Luckily I had recently requested a Facebook backup HOWEVER it will not allow me to download the backup, only to delete it!

Thus I have two questions

1) Seeking help: Can someone with connections at Facebook help me get this post either undeleted, or help me download the backup that is sitting on Facebook's servers but which has "expired" last week and is only available to delete, before Facebook self-deletes it? (what the h** kind of feature is this?)

2) Seeking Feedback: I am going to move to posting everything to a private domain using either wordpress, substack, ghost.org or similar and am seeking recommendations. I wish to make the posts available to email subscribers, to cross post to Facebook and NOT to make them in general available to the public. I do not want to charge a fee. What do you recommend? I know Matt M, the CEO of Wordpress so I trust that company, and I have friends happy with the other two. Security is a top concern.

3) Also, a big FU out there to any company deleting my user data without warning. If you want to censor it from other users, fine, I'll calmly move to another platform and whine about it. But if you are going to delete it without allowing me to save it... Now you can just go right ahead and [deleted because cursing limits algorithmic reach]!

*Note that this post did not posit a particular conclusion, but rather featured many research articles and speculated about the relatively likelihood of several possible conclusions, determining it was impossible to know the result with current information... a finding which has stood the test of time, and was affirmed just this week by the WHO, and to which the US responded saying the only things the WHO took off the table were still back on the table. It is not a post with patient suggestions or medical advice, and poses no risk to anyone. Posts I've made that fit that description are instead still up."
