The near future is going to be so weird.

ML software will be able to stitch together publicly accessible photos and video footage into 3d models of much of the world in different time periods (and fill in the missing bits with reasonable approximations.)

Imagine being able to stand in the middle of a street, turn a dial and "see" the street as it appeared 10, 20, 100 years ago.

Imagine realistic looking people and vehicles on the street puppeted by software (or humans goofing around). You'll be able to go up to them and have conversations with them that seem realistic. Moreover, you'll be able to adjust their personalities on the fly--make them angry, slutty, calm, etc.

You'll be able to fly over the city, teleport, etc.

You'll be able to throw fireballs, shoot lasers from your eyes, and smash buildings with a giant hammer. You'll be able to grow as large as Godzilla, or shrink as small as a mouse.

You'll be able to jump into the bodies of people in the world, and see the world from their perspective. Or take control of their bodies.

You'll be able to have conversations with simulcrum of historical figures, have tea with Hitler and Jesus.

You'll be able to "cut and paste" buildings from one street to the next. "Grow" plants from seedling to majestic adult and every stage in between. Mix and match animals.

Neural implants connected to the sensory parts of your brain will make it all seem real--you'll feel the touch of a woman's skin, hear her voice, and even smell her hair. You'll be able to have sex with anyone you like, from any era, in whatever perverse fashion you can imagine.

Reality benders will create narratives that you can follow along for the ride. Or you can jump off at any point, and explore the landscape.

Some of this (such as the neural implants) is plausible, but will require new science and significant new engineering. But much of it is already here in primitive form, and needs only incremental advances in processing power.
