"From a German colleague:

I am deeply fascinated by the United States of America, and the best way I can describe my feelings is this: suppose that one day you show up for work. Your boss introduces you to a new colleague, and it's a monkey. It's not a chimpanzee or a gorilla either, but one of those tiny Capuchin monkeys. And the monkey starts talking to you and he's wearing a suit, and everyone acts like it's completely normal. And the monkey is good at his job. Actually, he's better at it than you in many ways. He comes up with new solutions to old problems, and he sometimes sees new problems, and invents solutions for them. He is fast, and efficient, and smart. But he's also a monkey in a suit, so he still does monkey stuff, like eating whole unpeeled bananas for lunch, and when he's angry or frustrated, he hurls shit at people. And I'm not saying that America is a monkey in a suit. All I am saying is the way I would be fascinated by that monkey in that suit, that's the way I am fascinated by America."
