Blocked and Reported is one of my favorite podcasts. If you want a representative sample their work, I recommend checking out their interview with cammodel and rationalist AellaGirl:

The hosts, Jesse Singal and Katie Herzog are definitely on the left, but they're fair, funny, and open minded.

As a result, they clash with the woke mobs who are none of those things. Both have suffered cancel campaigns that drove them out of old school media.

Thankfully, those campaigns were a blessing in disguise, as they now make a healthy income directly from their fans via Patreon and Substack subscriptions.

However, the woke monsters have noticed that a lot of their enemies have moved to Patreon and Substack, so there's a rising drumbeat to take down those "problematic" platforms as well.

As a result, I sent them a fan letter / pointer to some info that might help them prepare for future attacks on their revenue streams.

Love you, Jesse and Katie! So glad you two are out there fighting the good fight!

Sorry to hear that Jesse's good name is being sullied. I'm worried that you will eventually be de-platformed by Patreon. Patreon has already cut off many people for political reasons, including many for using so-called hate speech.

As you are well known TERFs who routinely sling sexual and ethnic slurs on your podcast (/sarcasm), I think you are in danger of being "canceled" by Patreon.

Jack Conte has said that using sexual / racial slurs as insults is against the Patreon Community Guidelines, and that the _intent does not matter_, only "manifest observable behavior".

Unfortunately, most of the other payment processors--such as GoFundMe, Stripe, Paypal, Google Pay, Apple Pay--have policies similar to Patreon:
https://www.breitbart.com/tech/2018/07/24/stripe-paypal-patreon-the-right-is-being-banned-from-online-fundraising/

IMO, most of the tech firms pro-censorship stance is driven by their own ideology. But some of their censorious attitude stems from pressure from banks and credit card processors. And they, in turn, are pressured by the government.

You may recall, for example, Operation Chokepoint, an Obama era program that put pressure on financial services firms to "choke off" a wide variety of legal (if unpopular) industries:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Choke_Point

With the return of the Democrats to executive power, the Biden administration has quickly acted to re-impose critical race theory regulations throughout the federal government. IMO, it's only a matter of time before they try to impose similar regulations throughout the rest of the US as well:

Although it might seem implausible now that banks and credit card processors will to try to cut you off from financial services entirely for political reasons, it's happened at least once before, to Wikileaks. From 2010 to 2013, Wikileaks was cut off entirely from credit cards, Paypal, and most other financial services.

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-iceland-wikileaks/wikileaks-claims-victory-as-credit-card-donations-flow-again-idUSBRE96214720130703

The only direct form of payment Wikileaks could accept during that time was Bitcoin:

https://news.bitcoin.com/wikileaks-gathers-37m-in-btc-since-2010-over-400k-sent-after-julian-assanges-arrest/

(Ironically, being forced to accept Bitcoin turned out great for Wikileaks, given Bitcoin's appreciation from 2010 to the present.)

With luck, Patreon will continue their friendly and mutually beneficial relationship with you. With luck, they will never apply their TOS to you the way they have to Sargon of Akkad and many others.

But I'm not confident that your luck will hold in that way. Therefore, may I respectfully suggest that you use this time of grace to set up a financial support system that isn't as dependent on staying in good favor with Patreon?

For example, you could accept payments more directly on your website with software like Fosspay (via Stripe). You can see it in action here:

https://drewdevault.com/donate/

...or maybe you could set up a cryptocurrency donation page, similar to the one that the Tor Project has set up using BTCPayserver:

https://donate.torproject.org/cryptocurrency/

The further down the financial food-chain you eat, and the more your income comes from P2P currencies like Bitcoin and Monero, the less harm that Patreon, woke mobsters, or anyone else can do to you.

In any case, thanks for taking the time to read this. I'm so happy I found your podcast. You're a cool mountain wind of reasonableness in a media landscape shrouded in woke flatulence. Forever may you blow!
