Some podcasts have a fair bit of banter. This can be enjoyable, if your sense of humor jibes with the hosts. Joe Rogan, Blocked and Reported, and The Fifth Column would fall into this category for me.

Other podcasts have a high information density. The hosts put effort into researching their guests, ask questions that evoke more than a pat answer, and keep the conversation moving at a brisk pace.

Here's a few that fit into that category for me:

80000 Hours with Robert Wiblin (economics / politics / culture / effective altruism) https://80000hours.org/podcast/

Rationally Speaking with Julia Galef ( rationality / economics / culture ) http://rationallyspeakingpodcast.org/

Unchained with Laura Chin ( cryptocurrency ) https://unchainedpodcast.com/

The Privacy, Security, and OSINT Show with Michael Bazzelli (infosec / osint / privacy )
