"A Technological Lich is any person who prolongs his/her life through transhumanist means that rob the person of the form or essence of humanity. "

Lich's are undead creatures who typically must do terrible things to other people in order to achieve / maintain immortality. (Often, they must feed on a continuous supply of living humans.)

Thankfully, reality is not zero sum, and there's no physical reason why our future descendants can't all simultaneously enjoy extreme longevity, disease resistance, and intelligence/wisdom augmentation without the costs that lichs impose on others.

From the perspective of our mouse-like ancestors, humans are already lichs, ie our essential nature has changed such that we, their descendants, would be unrecognizable to them. I certainly don't think that evolving from mouse-ish creatures to the great apes we are today was any great loss or evil. And I don't think that the beings that evolve from us will regret whatever changes are necessary to defeat the scourges of aging, disease, and ignorance/stupidity.
