If libertarians were in power, what could they do to fight back against Covid? Here's a few suggestions, in no particular order.
Eliminate mask mandates. Instead, launch public relation campaigns explaining the currently available evidence for the efficacy of masks. Same for vaccine mandates.
Encourage FB, Google, and Twitter to stop censoring "wrongthink", and forcing the tech firm staff's beliefs on their users. Instead give _users_ tools to better control what _they_ want_ to read.
Drop work visa requirements for medical personnel, so that teams from the rest of the world can travel to hot spots and assist with spikes in cases.
Drop medical licensure requirements for Covid nurses/specialists. Instead, allow new Covid specialists to apprentice while working on the job.
Encourage those most at risk (elderly, immunocompromised ) to self isolate, while allowing those at low risk to continue to work. (The GBD's "Focused Protection" strategy.)
Establish a prize for the first team to develop a vaccine that works long term without an annual booster shot.
Drop FDA regulations that delayed Covid testing for months.
Drop FDA regulations that delayed vaccine release for months.
Encourage prominent scientists on _all_ sides to collaborate on the design of robust studies that no reasonable person could accuse of bias.
Eliminate zoning laws that block/slow the construction of new housing, so that those whose businesses / jobs have been destroyed can more easily afford housing.
Set up non-profits that provide assistance to those at high risk (elderly, etc) who are self-isolating.
