In all the discussion of forgiving student debt, why are taxpayers always expected to foot the bill? Why is there so little discussion of making higher ed pay the costs of forgiveness? Aren't they the one's who profited from saddling teenagers with excessive debt?
Let's assign the debt to the pushers of bad debt, colleges and universities. If they want to forgive the debt, let them do so. And no discharging it in bankruptcy either. If the university goes under, it attaches to the employees at the time the debt was issued.
