I don't recommend investing in crypto unless:
a) You're willing to put the legwork required to understand the long term value proposition of the crypto you're considering for purchase. You should be able to articulate a plausible answer to the questions a) what use does the crypto have that can be best realized with a cryptocurrency, and not say, a traditional website / company? b) what _you_ think the price should be and why, independent of whether others agree with you or not.
b) You're willing to buy and hold long term even through large fluctuations in the market price.
c) You accept that crypto is new technology undergoing massive growth and innovation (and therefore creative destruction).
d) You've vetted the development team and the community surrounding the crypto, and trust that they're capable and honest.
e) You can afford to lose the money you invest.
With those caveats, the time to buy is when most of the rest of the market is panicking. And, right now, much of the crypto market is panicking.
