Unless a very small number of people are voting, your vote will almost certainly have no effect on the outcome of the election. Spending your time at work or with your family has more expected value than does voting. However, if you view voting as an expressive act (like singing, etc) where you take pleasure in the act of voting, then my advice would be to find an org whose values reflect your own, and follow whatever they advise. That way, you offload the burden of correcting your rational ignorance to someone else, but you get an outcome that's probably close to what you would've achieved had you actually done the work to inform yourself.
