# Ven Graham I think willingness to respond quid pro quo to violent...

*May 23, 2022 — Comment Archer T. Ships replied to Lavender Graham's comment.*

Ven Graham I think willingness to respond quid pro quo to violent attacks is necessary for survival. The future is difficult to predict, let alone defend against. (And in the case of AI, I think it represents an opportunity as much as a threat--IMO, the future of sentient life is going to be robotic/AI.) However, some of the principles I advocate include a) don't put all of your eggs in one basket; spread out over the world / solar system b) select for intelligence and wisdom in offspring so that they're able to make better decisions than we can c) stay nimble, and be ready to flee -- distance increases the cost of attack d) invest in self defense; make attacking you uneconomical e) band together with like-minded folk to magnify your forces.
