Ozer I agree that electoral politics is mostly useless for libertarians. IMO, the democratic state evolved as a proxy for violence: there are 100 of us, and 50 of you. We could fight, and both suffer heavy losses. But we would almost certainly win. So, rather than fight, bend the knee and pay tribute, and avoid getting wiped out entirely. Libertarians almost always lose such fights because we're only 5-10% of the population, diffused across a wide area. The only way that we avoid losing (either actual battles or proxy battles) is to concentrate enough of our forces such that we are the dominant force in a given geographic area. Libertarians can operate under the radar to some degree (agorism), but we will always be at risk of discovery and assault at the hands of the more populous authoritarians.
