Good news, everyone!\

Many states (such as California and New York) have \"may issue\" gun permit laws. Such laws give the state discretion to demand that someone prove \"just cause\" before being issued a permit.\
\
As a result of \"may issue\" laws, it\'s effectively impossible for most average citizens to legally carry a gun in cities like New York City, San Francisco, and Chicago. (Unless you\'re rich, famous, and politically well-connected.)\
\
