Damjan Similar risks / critiques exist in the US - US manufacturers were shut down /hobbled for a year, US drug war finances terrorist groups across the globe / causes the US to have the 2nd largest prison population,crime, US War on Terror caused ~900 K deaths, China, like the US, is not a monolith and there are many great Chinese companies. Dismissing an entire country because of some bad actors does not seem like a good idea to me. But even if we grant your critiques, China is not the only manufacturer in the world. Mexico, Thailand, India, etc. Maybe, on net, selecting US manufacture is the best strategy for them, but I find choosing to manufacture in the US simple because it's the US to be repulsive.
