Brad Yes, agreed. Cryptocurrencies allow for low-cost, cross border payments, in any amount to anyone in the world without any intermediaries. If you choose a private cryptocurrency, it's almost impossible to trace, tax or seize money against your will. No inflation. Cryptos are breaking through the paternalistic/rentseeking laws that prevent the average person from investing in early stage startups, buying foreign stocks, or moving money across national boundaries. You can donate to campaigns, non-profits, and other forms of speech without fear that the government will try to punish you. You can buy drugs, sex work, or gamble with less fear. Cryptos are still too hard to acquire and use but lots of money is pouring into the industry to solve those problems. And I'm much more confident that the industry will get easier to use, than I am that the USG or other governments will stop spending far behind their means.
