Eli Even if the scope of external change someone can make is severely limited (Ross Ulbricht, for example), they are still the only choices we have. Those suffering under severe privation can still make internal changes that can significantly improve their lives. See, for example, Elie Wiesel's book Man's Search For Meaning, or Victor Bukovsky's To Build A Castle.
