Scott SBF was no libertarian. He was the second highest donor to the Biden campaign (5+ million), second only to Soros. He also donated $40 million to Democrats during the midterm. FTX hired ex-CFTC chairman Mark Wetjen to be head of FTX's Policy and Regulatory strategy. And he and his company actively lobbied for crypto regulation (which would've benefited his firm, at the expense of the rest of the industry). And his Mom, a Stanford law professor, is also a prominent Democratic fundraiser who has frequently and vociferously attacked libertarianism in academia. He was firmly embedded into the government establishment.
