Philosophically, I don't think your freedom of movement should be restricted even though you have some repugnant views. Similarly, I don't think other people's right to hire you, lease an apartment to you, or otherwise associate with you should be restricted because you might some day vote for a nativist. IMO, people's liberties should only be restricted if and only if they personally commit a crime, and have been through due process, not because of an accident of birth. I also don't think socialized central planning works in any context, including immigration. There's no way the bureaucrats at the DHS could possibly collect enough information to make better decisions than the individual decisions of hundreds of millions of citizens acting with intimate knowledge of their own preferences and local needs. And, empirically, even though the US has vast empty spaces, where people could associate only with people like them, the majority vote with their feet, and move to highly diverse communities like NYC, LA, Miami, etc. Therefore, whatever downsides cultural diversity may cause, it has enough upsides that most people vote with their feet to be a part of it.
