Giego Caleiro Yes, in theory sugar relationships are supposed to have an emotional component. But if the sex or the money stopped the sugar relationship would end. (And escorting relationships are not without emotional connection -- escorts and their regulars often develop warm feelings for each other.) IMO, sugar babies use the fig leaf of "emotional connection" to lie to themselves about what they are doing. To my mind, the primary difference is that sugar babies are paid a fixed regular fee, and escorts are paid a la carte. Though, even then, most sugaring relationships start with "pay per meet" (ppm) arrangements, as you don't want to make a big upfront payment to someone you don't mesh well with.
