Elise Hecht The artists didn't make the final art; they made the art that the AI's trained on. So the artists who created the training data had no more right to credit or income than the past artists studied by human artists. And, as I conceded, the AI companies might owe money for pirating. You can look at stock art sites for free. You only owe money if you use the image itself. Alien franchise was created long before AI was mature. If it were made today, I think the producers would have no problem using AI art. (And I expect an explosion of movies heavily using AI will soon be released.)
