I like Mattias Wandel's system:  he makes holders from wood scraps that are screwed directly to plywood. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBRopVnX17k If he wants to move something, he just unscrews and moves the holder. Advantages: * no "system" to buy--made from readily available screws, glue, and plywood * infinitely reconfigurable * less time consuming to build than french cleat * cleaner look Disadvantages: * takes some time/skill/tools to make the holders * some screw holes left behind if you make changes
