# J Aystronomous Lewis Smart phones existed 10 years ago, and there was...

J Aystronomous Lewis Smart phones existed 10 years ago, and there was a clear path to market adoption. By contrast, not a single person has been uploaded, nor even the simplest of creatures. There is not a single effective anti-aging therapy on the market. Just getting such a therapy through FDA trials is going to take 5-10 years, if it were already in the pipeline, which it's not. I'm optimistic that such technology will exist, and we shouldn't lose heart. But I also think it's important to be realistic about our odds.
