Is there a canonical list of science fiction script writing rules of thumb? For example: * No time travel * No raising the dead. * No multiverse. * Magic must have a cost. * Magic must follow rules. * Don't create characters that are too powerful. * Follow the laws of physics. * Follow the laws of biology. I realize that there are good movies that violate one or more of the above heuristics, but, IMO, many sci-fi stories would be better if they adhered to them.
